The fully-tempered blade has a dull end, perfect for levering shellfish off of the rocks they're attached to. Its tapered tip can easily slide under the shell, and the long, hard blade can generate a lot of pulling power.

The edge of the blade has been sharpened, with a serrated section at the heel, and a sharpened gut hook on the back, so you can use it for cutting ropes and vines, cloth, fishing line and more.
